Delegation, clarity, and not losing your darn mind

Let’s talk about something spicy:  Delegation.

I know you were hoping for something a little, well, spicier. But stay with me. Cause if you can get delegation right, you’ll have all kinds of time on your hands to get to that funner, spicier stuff (the kind that’s not part of this post)😮

Now back to delegation, specifically, the kind that actually works – not the “I tried this once, and it was a mess, so now I just do everything myself and wonder why I’m exhausted” kind.

If you’ve ever delegated and it blew up in your face, or you want to delegate but you’re scared it’ll take more time than it saves… you’re in good company.

This is where my client Charmie was.

“When I started my virtual assistant agency, I was working crazy hours, and I was barely making enough to pay myself and my team.”

She had the business. She had the people. She had the receipts.
But she was in full-on survival mode.

So, inside the Rise Business Academy, we focused on the actual problem: She was doing too much of the wrong stuff.

Once she got clear on what really moved the needle — and what she needed to let go of — things started shifting fast.

“RISE Business Academy showed me how to focus on the right activities, attract dream clients, and streamline our offers. My team got better results without burning out.”

The result?

✨ Tripled her monthly revenue (from $3K to $9K)

✨ Quadrupled her team

✨ Did it without working 80 hours a week or melting down on a Tuesday

Magic? Nope.

Just clarity + leadership + strategy that doesn’t require your soul as payment.

So let’s get to the practical part:

Here are 5 things you can delegate this week without your business imploding:

1. Your calendar – All those clients that want to reschedule. The new client that needs 3 appointments, the guy you met at the networking event who wants a spot on your calendar. Let. it. All. go.

2. Formatting & scheduling your content – You don’t need to be fiddling with Canva exports and Hootsuite queues. You’re the voice – not the administrative hands (besides, we all know what takes us 3 hours takes someone who knows what they are doing 30 minutes).

3. Client onboarding – Welcome emails, links, docs, contracts, gifts — there’s zero reason you should still be the one setting this up.

4. Your messy email list – Segments, tags, cleanup. You know it needs it. Let someone else deal with it.

5. Content repurposing – That brilliant LIVE you did? You shouldn’t have to touch it again. Turn it into 3 carousels and a reel without lifting a finger. Let your assistant and some brilliant AI do the work.

And let’s address the elephant in the room:

“What if I’ve delegated before, and it was a disaster?”

You’re not alone. Here’s why it probably didn’t work:

  • You didn’t set clear start dates & end dates
  • You handed off something you weren’t clear on yet
  • You hired in a panic and then tried to work with someone who you realized wasn’t a good fit in the first 3 weeks, but you were too scared to let go of
  • Nothing was written down so it was always a battle of “who said what” that you never seemed to win

Here’s how we do it better:

Hold at least 1–2 weekly team meetings and treat them like sacred ground
Yes, even when you “don’t feel like it.” This is your leadership time. Your team needs rhythm, not randomness.

Use a shared Google Doc or Sheet everyone can see during the meeting
If it’s not written down, it didn’t happen. (And no, your memory doesn’t count.)

End every meeting 10 minutes early to assign clear tasks
Each task needs a start date, an end date, and a responsible human. And make sure everyone agrees before you bounce.

This is how you stop delegating like a hopeful tornado 🌪️ and start leading like a CEO. 💯

Your mission this week (should you choose to accept it):

👉 Pick ONE thing to delegate

👉 Set your team up to succeed (not guess)

👉 Use the extra time to lead, rest, or maybe… drink your coffee while it’s still hot.😱

Charmie’s business didn’t change because she worked harder.
It changed because she finally made space for her business to work for her.

You can too.
