Let’s talk about the economy for a second.

No, I’m not going to start spouting doom-and-gloom headlines or quoting political news. I’m talking about your economy, the one that matters most: your business bank account.

Here’s the deal.

We’re in what I call a trust market.

Translation: People aren’t just buying because they saw your Instagram post. They’re buying because they know you, they like you, and they trust you.

And the fastest way to build that kind of trust?

Create experiences where people can actually learn from you.

Live. In real time.

That means speaking, workshops, events, anywhere people can hear your voice, feel your energy, and experience your expertise before they ever pull out a credit card.

Speaking is, hands down, the highest-converting sales strategy I have ever used.
But here’s the problem…

Most people think “speaking to sell” means you slap together some slides, share a couple of tips, and then make an offer at the end.

Nope.

That is like baking a cake, forgetting the sugar, and hoping the frosting will save it.

If you have not designed the entire talk to lead to your offer, it does not matter how amazing that offer is. People will not be ready to say yes.

There are about seven specific things you must do in your talk to inspire sales.

The first one?

Your signature story.

Not a resume-in-disguise story about your degrees, job history, or “I started my business out of love” snoozefest.

I am talking about a resonant, relatable story that makes people in your audience lean forward and think:

“I like her.”
“I trust her.”
“She gets me.”
“She could help me.”

And let’s be real. Most signature stories I hear out there need work.

They are too long, too short, too dry, too factual, or too self-focused.

The good ones are crafted with intention to create emotional impact and trust, which leads directly to sales – and there’s a very specific formula to get this right.
