How to recognize entrepreneurial burnout
Burnout Is Not a Sign to Quit. It’s a Sign to Shift.
Two weeks ago, I wrote about the three invisible culprits that sneak into your offers and make you feel like throwing your laptop into the nearest lake:
Boredom. Disappointment. Burnout.
(If you missed the breakdown on boredom—and why your offer might feel like soggy toast—you can catch it here.)
But this week, we need to talk about burnout.
And not the cute kind where you need a green juice and a nap.
I mean the kind that lives in your bones.
Here’s what entrepreneurial burnout looks like:
You wake up tired, even if you got 8 hours of sleep – but way more tired when it comes to doing your business work.
You can somehow find the energy to fold laundry, make dinner, even play Clue with your kids…
…but when it comes to sending a newsletter, launching a program, or showing up for your business?
Inner tantrums. Resistance. Blank stares at your calendar.
You know you’re good at what you do.
You know your clients love you.
But you just… don’t have it in you right now.
Burnout is especially sneaky if you’re already successful.
If you’re at or past the 6-figure mark, and you’ve been doing this for a few years, you might think:
“I shouldn’t feel this way. I should be grateful.”
But listen—burnout doesn’t care how much money you made last year.
This happens when your business no longer reflects who you are now.
It happens when the marketing you used to love now feels like pulling teeth.
It happens when you’ve been carrying too much for too long, and your soul finally says,
“Enough. I’m not doing it like this anymore.”
So what do you do instead of spiraling and threatening to become a barista in Bali?
You get honest.
You listen in.
And you make some gentle, but radical changes.
Start here:
Make a brutally honest list.
What do you love doing?
What do you dread?
What parts of your business light you up—and which parts suck you dry?
Audit your business model.
Maybe it’s time to:
- Shift from 1:1 to group programs
- Move from live launches to evergreen content
- Rebrand or rename your offers to feel more like you
- Add actual rest to your calendar (and no, scrolling Instagram doesn’t count)
Take a beat.
If you can, take 2 weeks, a month, even just a few days to slow the heck down.
If you can’t afford to step away fully, then you absolutely need someone in your corner to help you make adjustments in a way that won’t break the business (or your spirit). Many of my private clients have hired me for this reason. I roll up sleeves with you and decide, where can we create more space? How do we shift this business model? What do we need to do differently?
This is the part where I say: I’ve got you.
I’ve been at this game for 10+ years. I’ve hit seven figures and stayed there. I’ve navigated multiple evolutions of myself, my brand, my business model, and I’ve helped hundreds of women do the same.
If you’re nodding along to this email, if you’re feeling the “ugh” more than the excitement—then maybe it’s time to have a RESET.
This Saturday, we are doing just that.
I’m hosting a FREE workshop:

Because burnout isn’t a failure.
It’s a divine nudge.
And sometimes, you just need to reset in order to figure out what’s next.
