How to Have a Fantastic Summer and Get it All Done

So this month is family month for me – and I’m loving it!  My niece for two weeks, my oldest sister for a few days and Jai’s parents for a month.

And Oh Man!  It’s causing me to up my game.  BIG TIME.

There’s something that happens when your time gets compressed.  You can either get stronger at planning and getting it all done or you can get overwhelmed and just let it all go.

Which one do you do?

With our next 3-Day event coming up right around the corner – I’ve chosen to step it up.

I thought I’d share two of the strategies I’ve been using to get it all done in half the time:

1. Plan it all out the night before. Have you ever noticed that when you get rolling in your day – everything starts to have equal weight? All interruptions, all phone calls, every email.  It can get a little wild!

I spend about 15 minutes at the end of the day to figure out what is the priority for the next day.

I map out:

  • 3 Revenue generating tasks
    • follow up calls
    • new potential lead follow up
    • setting up new speaking events
    • connecting with partners
    • and so many more…
  • 3 Other tasks
    • projects
    • writing
    • team meetings
  • 3 Self-care tasks
    • working out
    • planning meals
    • quiet time

2. I ask myself the question: “Who can do this for me?”

Yes, you can do almost anything.  But you can’t do it all alone.   The key piece is being resourceful about how you can get help.

Some of my favorite sites for getting quick and affordable help are:

I’ve learned that there are so many ways to get things done – but you just have to be able to reach out and ask for some help along the way!

3. Be focused when you are working. Work on one thing at a time and get it done.   You don’t have time for perfectionism or indecision.  I like to think of everything I create as version one.  That way I have room for correction and perfection later – but we still stay in action NOW.

Here’s to you having a fantastic, busy summer and still keeping up with your business goals.   I look forward to toasting a virtual margarita with you.

Leave me a comment on how you are getting it all done this summer!
