Can you make money from your spiritual gifts?

I was in a workshop today. One of the participants asked, “Monica, I have all these spiritual gifts, like reading tarot cards and being intuitive and different kinds of healing work that I do. But I don’t actually bring them into my client work, because I’m afraid that they won’t make money.”

I get this question literally all the time.

Let’s start at the beginning. The definition of a business is solving a problem. Whether you are selling a product, a service or a program, it doesn’t matter. You’re not selling the actual product, program or service – you’re selling a solution to a problem that your customers have.

That’s a really important distinction. The fundamental definition of having a business is solving a problem for someone and then getting paid for it.

Now, let’s talk about spiritual gifts. Let’s say that you read angel cards. Someone walks up to you at a networking event and asks what you do. The very act of reading an angel card isn’t going to strike that person as solving their immediate problem.

Generally, people are heavily focused on their immediate problems – needing more money, wanting to lose weight, trying to get a new job, finding love, etc.

So the key to making money from your gifts is making sure you connect your spiritual gifts with solving an immediate problem for a particular group of people.

Let me give you an example. I had a client who was teaching meditation and yoga classes. She had her own style of yoga, and she came to one of our Revenue Breakthrough Intensives to get help.

She was struggling because she was trying to do online yoga and meditation classes. She didn’t have a big budget, so she couldn’t do a lot of ads to drive people to her classes and she wasn’t filling them.

When I started working with her, instead of having her lead with the meditation and the yoga classes, we shifted her business to focus on an immediate problem and particular group of people.

She decided to serve entrepreneurial moms who were trying to juggle their family and their business.
She started calling her classes “Relief for Harried Entrepreneurial Moms” where she combined yoga, meditation, coaching and Reiki. A full suite of spiritual gifts! Within a month, she was filling her classes regularly. And many of her students upleveled to work with her 1:1.

If you have spiritual gifts that are in the closet, and you want to share them – please do! You can make great money (and I have tons of clients doing that right now!).

But you do need to think about how you can directly connect your gifts with solving an immediate problem for a particular audience. Then, you’ll be much more likely to attract high paying clients.

I know this might be a big change for many of you. If you’d like more help on how to pick that problem or market – I’m here for you. Just reach out to us at support@revenuebreakthrough.com or join our Facebook group to get additional support.
